Can students on the Asylum status apply for a study visa in South Africa?

Created by Masemelo Sejake, Modified on Thu, 6 Nov at 10:40 AM by Anika Kirangwa

Students currently on asylum status must return to their country of origin with a valid passport and obtain an official letter from the Department of Home Affairs confirming the cancellation of their asylum permit. Before departing, they are advised to compile all necessary documents required for a study visa application. These may include, for example, a South African Police Clearance Certificate and a study visa support letter issued by their South African university.

Students must visit the SA Embassy/VFS offices in their country for further requirements. See study visa requirements below
